A wet weekend decision
21 Answers
I was all framed up for a weekend's sailing. When it came down to it I had two choices:-
a) Drown in the freezing grey solent in a force 6 gale & lashings of cold rain.
b) Drown in a vat of warm red wine with a hot chilli & lashings of sour cream.
I chose the latter. I chose well.
But by god I have a raging headache this morning, wish I'd pulled a sickie.
Sailing is for mad people.

No for me it's a river cruiser, preferably on the Broads, but with the capability of being able to go out to sea simply for the possibility of entering another estuary somewhere,
You see i like to be able to walk through the stateroom to the galley without banging my head, cos when it feels like yours does this morning it's not good.
I also like blown air heating, and a nice hot shower,

I don't mean to be offensive salla but your user name suggests something not quite right, I E in cockpit with boyfriend ,no one else in sight, a glass of chilled white wine, that's O K but why the book ?
and why would you be in the galley in a force seven, when you deemed it unwise to sail this last weekend in a six,
And also the type of vessell you are describing to me now, suggests to me you a Millionair or very close to it,
so why go to work today,
OK tell me to mind my own business,. :-)

So what's not quite right & what's that got to do with my username?
First of all it's a 36' sailing yacht - not mine I hasten to add - I wish it was, coz if it was I'd sell it to pay off my debts. I couldn't afford the dinghy that goes on the back of it.
No I didn;t go out in a force 6 this weekend - cos I have been out in a force 7 & higher before, and didn;t exactly like the experience.
Why the book? Err, cos I like reading & the BF is the skipper so does most of the navigating, piloting etc.
What are you suggesting Logic - this is all in my imagination?
I could tell you to mind your own business, but you are obviously interested enough to query what I'm saying, so ask away.

No salla I am not doubting anything, obviously we have not spoken much on here, otherwise you would know I love to be, er, slightly cantanckerous, sp, I do however love cruising and have done most of that on the Norfolk broads,
My cousin who is also a very close friend is the sailor, but I don't like rag power, especially on rivers, the tacking drives me mad, hence my prefference for cruisers. I also have a strong love for red wine, hence my home brewery,
No i wasn't quizing or taking the micky, I have cruised round the solent and the five rivers,
Love the solent ,prtsmouth, southampton, etc,
Bur Brighton's a bit iffy,
Any way must go and get some thing done, as much as I would like to sit here talking boats,
Have a good day.
