I went to a private, fee paying school, whilst my husband went to a state school (comprehensive.) I am unclear as to what a 'Public School' is. Is it just another way of saying 'Private School' as both are fee paying....or is a Public School classed as a private school but with astronomically higher fees?
a public school is a private school in Britain (though not elsewhere - in most countries a public school is one open to the public, not just to the wealthy). A quaint little Britishism.
Ethel can't come back to every link, even those on which she's correctly put me right, mainly I suppose because the Qs I Answered page refuses to open up. You can't expect anyone to memorise every thread they've been on.
Thanks for those answers guys.....and to Ethel, I'm sure most questions could be answered by researching other websites...but isn't the answerbank for that purpose. What a confidence knocking thing to put!
Whilst I don't mind answering questions for people, I quite enjoy the hunt that is searching the internet for answers and can't understand why others either can't or don't.
However, there have been times when I just haven't had a clue where to look and AB is virtually my last resort.
Sorry jno, this is not the first time that Ethel has not answered my questions and yes I agree that she cant answer all threads, but this particular one was only a couple of hours old.
Perhaps she is on too many threads, but I have a lot of respect for Ethel and her answers, but she is gathering quite a lot of discontented ABers, which at the moment are outnumbered by her supporters. Is she a problem?.......NO. Is there an issue with her?...........probably YES.
