Is it illegal to sell knitting needles in a charity shop. I have just been told that they are classed as an offensive weapon and charity shops are not allowed to sell them under health ansd safety laws

It wouldn't be health and safety - it's probably to do with offensive weapons
Apologies - it does seem to be health and safety
So why just the charity shops? You can still buy them in other shops.
