LOL - are you sure that's fancy dress? Looks pretty authentic to me.

Something Polish? ;-)

Nah!

Kappa shellsuit, Burberry cap, goldie-lookin chain and a big can of Stalla. England's national drink, innit?

Leave it to this goverment, and it'll be Kilt, and Sporran.

What a pity. you can go to any country in Europe and find, not only National Dress but Regional Dress. Also Regional dishes,Music and Folk Lore. In England you get to watch an imported Royal family at invented Ceremonies.

Putting this together, I get the feeling that England's national dress will be sponsored by the Daily Mail.

So we'll have a shellsuit-wearing morris dancer with a knotted hankie on his head, sandals with socks carrying a can of Stella, with a crazed staffie on a bit of string.

His partner will have a micro skirt, showing her mutton top and corned beef legs, a sex goddess T-shirt, two sizes too small, streaky fake tan and a Croyden facelift.

Presumably the costumes will be exhibited by Polish models cos everyone else is on the sick.
I know this q. is meant as a bit of fun, and some of the answers have made me laugh. But England doesn't enter a team in the Olympics, it's GB, and that's going to cause a problem. They'll come on wearing something completely neutral so as not to offend anybody, and succeed in offending everybody.

Very true,SeaJayPea. But the other nations of the UK have a national dress - or a national caricature - they are happy with. England doesn't seem to have a unified identity or national dress or national caricature, what should that be? Bowler hats? Morris dancers? St George?

it would be nice to get a chance......

unfortunately in the olympics we have other countries in our team,

perhaps trousers only as foreigners have 'ripped the shirt off our backs'.
vibra - fab answer - unfortunately thats probably how the world sees us as well!

However, due to present credit crunch we wont be able to afford any national costume for the Olympics, so think we should adopt a "Nude Olympics"

and try to say we are doing it for the eco of the world....

may work?
