I'm often told ( rather sarcastically ) by Staff in KFC restaurants that I cant have more than one piece of chicken breast/wing/leg, when i want two pieces of the same part of the chicken because there are only two breast/wing/legs on each chicken .
This has got me thinking - if science could manipulate the genes in chickens so that they grew more than two wings/legs , would you feel in any way queasy buying chickens with these extra limbs ?
Personally, not a problem I'll eat almost anything except sprouts and cucumber but I can imagine quite a few people balking at a eating part of an 8 legged chicken. Particularly those who jump on a chair when they see a spider.
Berti, Bein' as most chickens only come with one it would seem that the demand far exceeds the supply, so much so they don't even bother posting them on the menu. But then there may yet be hope, just around the corner.
BTW,
KFC chicken originates in China, where it is kiled, skinned and minced;then frozen.
It is despatched to Holland (so as to be able to be called Dutch chicken under EU rules).
It is "re~formed" in Holland into acceptable chicken "shapes" and then despatched to UK KFC restaurants (I used the word restaurant in it's loosest sense) for deep frying.
and people STILL eat it!
I was really referring to the bonelsschicken, but even the boned chicken comes from China and is cleaned etc in Holland so KFC can claim it is from the EU.
This comes courtesy (but dont tell anyone) of a nephew who is manager of a KFC.
