Simple Baby Knitting Patterns
5 Answers
I used to knit a lot when I was younger (very young in fact, used to make a lot of smaller sized baby bonnets, toys etc...) and am just getting back into it.
Am currently just knitting a small blanket with some chunky yarn and needles to get back into the swing of things. I can do the usual knit, pearl and can follow other simple stitches.
I have a number of friends with babies and babies on the way I want to knit for an also want to do some extras for the local baby unit if they will have them, charity shops if not.
I have been looking for pattersn on the net and there seem to be quite a few about but could do with some simple ones to start me back off.
I have discovered a treasure trove of a knitting shop in town and got myself a couple of lovely balls of doubleknit yarn so start me off and some 4mm needles and am looking for very simple net patterns which I can do with these before I get a bit more adventurous and invest in some openended needles and such and use patterns which need you to change needles etc...
Booties and hats are my first targets :)
If anyone can help me find any free patterns on the net which are pretty simple and which would help me get started they would be very gratefully received :)

PS: Charity shops often have small mountains of old knitting patterns hidden away in their stock rooms. You simply have to ask if you want to see them.

Thank you Chris, so helpful as ever :)
And you Chuck, that made me giggle :) Craft, don't worry, Chuck knows I have two little furry monsters making for a rather extreme knitting experience at times :)
I found a basic pattern I've adapted to a simpler hat which I'm having a go at at the moment. K2, P2 is too much concentration for me at the moment lol :) Am doing a simple ribbed plain knitted one before I get more adventurous with my stitches.
