I uploaded a single page with words and sound having in mind the Queen's Official Birthday tomorrow. Someone I sent it to emailed me back to say "I clicked the Windows Media Sound link at the top of the page and a Quick-Time program tried to load, but then there was no picture or sound." Can anyone please suggest what might be the problem? The sound should be by link to a MIDI file that I've uploaded. Here is the page concerned http://www.skeef.freeserve.co.uk/marchmedley/ I use Windows Media Player and have no problem with it. Thanks for any help.
Thanks for your response. I have suggested to the person concerned that if they haven't got Windows Media Player installed perhaps that is the problem. it seems they tried to use QuickTime, but I don't know anything about that. Anyone know if QuickTime could be the reason?
AlBags, I've tried embedding but for some reason can't make it work - go to internet options, complete various info. then browse to find and add the MIDI. Viewed ready for upload the MIDI is there in the idex_files, but for some reason there's no sound. I've given up on that one.
Midi files are not audio files, they are instructions to a midi synthesiser (rather like the roll in a player-piano or the drum in a music box). Convert the midi file to audio.
Rojash - I'm intrigued. I've spent some time fishing 'audio' on the internet and it all seems so complicated that I'm tempted to gorget it! However if there is a simple way of converting MIDI to audio I would be very interested.
