Really weird random question.

Do you all have central heating?
I'm asking as we've only just cobbled together the money to get it installed in our house (job losses, children, debts, bills ets always got in the way) And I'm quite excited about it. However EVERYONE who I speak to/tell about it looks at me in utter horror, shock and amazement and said "You don't have central heating...?".
So....my question is....anyone else not have it?

We managed to persuade them to put central heating in and it didn't even touch the cold - I have never lived in such a cold, damp, miserable crap hole (but if you had the money to do it up it would great). Hope you like it when you get it finished.

Boo enjoy your house when you get the central heating. I moved into a brand new house some 20 years ago and it was coal-fired central heating and it was brilliant. I have moved to oil and whilst it is convenient there was nothing like the old coals. You will know the difference. I too picked the ice from inside windows in the bedroom and also we used heavy coats on the bed to keep 11 of us (not together) warm. But 11 people generate heat and we all got by.
to be honest Connemarra ive never been THAT bothered by the cold, we're a mid terraced house, our lofts insulated and we've double glazing. The only time i remember being bitterly cold here was last winter- but then so was everyone else as well!
And I don't want ot enjoy my house, I hate it here- why we're forking out for CH, so we can get the hell away from it ;-)

My OH wants us to move but I don't really want to, We replaced out CH boiler last year, but now the bathroom could do with brightening up (it's tiled to the ceiling) and also the kitchen units look a bit faded to me. We could go on and on spending money on the house and we won't get it back if we sell.
