Just the Daily Mail stirring it - I thought it was bl00dy hilarious, and seriously, if anybody had been offended there, do you think that they'd have been allowed to drive around, clearly seen in open topped cars through Syria or Jordan or wherever it was if it was thought it would cause trouble? I have it on good authority ( a friend of a friend of a - one of the cameramen), that they also had permission to race in those ruins, and James May had to be filmed four times coming out of the hospital because he kept on cracking up when he saw the way they were dressed.

It was a clever programme, and we enjoyed the concept behind it. It seems stupid to have worn burkhas and niqab but - as is stated - this is not Muslim wear, it is cultural, there is nothing about this particular garment in the Quran, it's just become associated with extreme Islam. I am more surprised that the Christians aren't up in arms about the Baby Jesus - in the manger he was dressed as Baby Stig - I thought some might have found that far more offensive!

Boxtops, the fact that christians seem not to have been ofended by the Baby stig illustrates the gulf in sense of humour. Can you imagine if Monty Python made "Life of Mohammed" instead of life of brian?

I like the way Choudary says, "The burka is a symbol of our religion ...". Correct me if I'm wrong, but when we have 'discussions' over the repressional nature of the burka, aren't its defenders quick to point out that it's not a religious symbol but more a choice of modest clothing?

And why, I wonder, are men dressed in nuns' habits funny and OK to show on TV, but men dressed in burkas not so?

And why don't people just not watch if it's going to offend them. Or do some people only watch TG just to see what they can find to complain about this time. It's TG, for pity's sake! What do they expect? Squeaky clean Blue Peter presenters being mega-PC?

Three Tweets on an obscure Yahoo forun is hardly worldwide condemnation from muslims. If you watched the programme, it was obvious that where ever they went, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, there were Top Gear fans.

In answer to the pet hates question below, I wrote a few days ago that men dressing up as women for comedic effect was a sign of desperation. It is not funny, and did not add anything to an otherwise excellent Top Gear Special.

I wonder if any Christians were outraged at the blasphemous depiction of the son of God being a baby Stig. I thought it very amusing, but I personally know people who would have been offended by that.

Just goes to show, you can parody and spoof the Daily Mail, but the real thing is far more daft and laughable.

Anyone who is easily offended by anything should know by now not to watch Top Gear.Jeremy has a constant case of verbal diarrhoea and is totaly unashamed of the fact.
It was supposed to be a light hearted prigramme,and lets face it,TG wouldn't be the same if JC behaved himself
