I saw an advert for a programme on Channel 4 called The Joy of Teen Sex. It looks like it should just be called The Paedophile Show. Does this programme need to be made and will it benefit anyone other than the aforementioned?

Paedophiles tend to be interested in prepubescent kids. So not sure this programme will appeal to them.
I agree I take it this show will be on at 11pm or such? Meaning its target audience won't be watching. So who will?
I doubt if it will deal with early teen years. Nubile 18 or 19 year olds would hardly interest paedophiles.
What time is it on?
16,17,18,19 year olds...maybe.
"Paedophiles tend to be interested in prepubescent kids"

Yes, by definition but as Paedophile is such an emotive word people seem to overlook what it actually means.
in answer, no the program doesnt really need to be made, unless they are teaching safe sex

Not sure of the ages but it looked to me like there could be some participants in their early teens.
Which they well could be. Or educating parents who have forgotten what it's like to be a teenager...
i hope it doesn't do what all the other sex shows do - endless clips of fat men in gimp outfits being whipped and lead round on a dog lead. honestly, all they seem to show is s&m clubs 'these' programmes.

hopefully it will encourage safe sex and be full of advice.
16+....can't see a problem with it. As we have the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe maybe it's not a bad thing.
//hopefully it will encourage safe sex and be full of advice.//

I imagine it will have a quite strong safe sex message. I also imagine it might answer some questions which some teenagers are just a bit scared to ask - which is good, teenagers don't need to be more confused about this stuff.
Apparently, someone on the show has got to the age of 20 and is still confused about STDs..........if it sorts out the myths and misunderstandings, surely it can only be to the good ?
teenagers shouldn't be confused, parents should be feeding them appropriate information throughout their childhood so we don't end up with teenagers thinking they wont get pregnant if they are standing up etc.
Teens are the very people who need informing about sex - the more straightforward it is done, the better.
It is beyond me how teenagers are so clueless with all the sex education they supposedly get from school, the wealth of information available online and those very near the knuckle teen magazines.
The sooner sex is put in to realistic context the better. If only they view sex they way they view oysters - yukky to a teen, but even a teen knows many adults enjoy them.
It's on just after the watershed, it's meant to be informative for parents and teens, not sleazy for pervs to watch.
My kids, so far, have discussed their sexual questions with me.
To be honest, im still confused why society feels the need to tell teens and kids in general EVERYTHING about sex.

We've managed thousands of years without the need to do so before, and some might argue they were better off for it too.

As far as I can see, kids know wayyyy too much about sex as it is, and it doesn't appear to have slowed down the teenage birth rate.
What happened to sex educationat school?

I know it was pretty poor when I was a girl. The whole year had to attend a 'meeting' in the sports hall for the most embarasing half hour ever.

I am all for sex education at school at an apropriate age. perhaps late junior school. Non of this crap about 5 and 6 year olds being told though.
Well any kid that went to a Catholic school would need educating about contraception...as it wasn't taught when I was in school. And it wasn't the olden days. I left school in 1989...
