I thought that chain letters died out with the ark, but hear we are in modern times and I get friends/aquaintances who insist on sending me similar by e mail eg " send this on to ten people and good fortune will be yours by tomorrow " bah humbug ! prayers for this - pls pass on-prayers for that- recently my sister in law sent me a long religious parable [ no she doesnt go to church ever !] about an old man of 82 and then resent the whole thing because he was 94 not 82 ! I have asked politely pls dont send to no avail, I dont want to fall out with these people but I am fed up with it day after day.Any suggestions ?

Send them tons of it back.
Argh! I HATE these things! As soon as I realise that's what it is I just delete it.
Just delete them without opening them.
Asking them not to send them hasn't worked and they are obviously getting loads of them and sending them on to you, so sending them loads back would only result in you getting even more from them.
It's a pain, though. Try to rise above it.
Just delete - they are sent to try us, so refused to be tryed!
I received one yesterday about a boycott of BP and Esso. The argument runs....if enough people boycott them they will be forced to reduce fuel prices, then the other companies will do the same. I've already started and passed the email on to a bunch of people.
Chain letters give me the creeps, I've told those who do send them this and they seem to think twice.
hello coccinelle :)
what's the weather like over there?
Just ignore them they are not worth the trouble and who would know anyway.
If everybody continued the chain the internet would grind to a halt having been overloaded by emails. Save the web and ignore them.

many thanx for all your comments, I do delete them straight away but they still annoy me.

If you're worried about them send them on to me. They'd make a change from the ones I get from people offering to give me fortunes of money or trying to sell me drugs that can raise the dead.
