People leaving Answerbank. What The Funicular? It's internet.

Recently a regular poster naomi24 said she was leaving Answerbank and I've just read that also sqad has decided to leave. What is going on here? Both of these posters have come across to me as rational and usually helpful human beings yet they've decided to alter their lives because of other internet users.

Who actually really gives a monkeys about anyone's opinions on the internet, especially when the views are derogatory. If someone starts being an ahole on a website I immediately get an image of a 50+ year old man sitting in his pants, spewing his hateful garbage anonymously to the internet using world.

However, naomi24 and sqad have apparently let a few retards(who probably do not interact with real people on a regular basis, and just sit at their computer all day being twanks) banish themselves from this site, even though the other 99% of people enjoy and respect both sqad and naomi's views. I just don't get it.

Nobody cares about people leaving and trying to drum up attention by posting. If they want to leave, just go. After a month or so they will either be back or everyone will have forgotten about them.

I think you've over-estimated the 99%. I for one didn't give a fig for any of sqad's views and didn't talk to naomi that much, although she seemed ok.

I don`t think it was other users that drove sqad off. I think it was the censorship of his comments. That would make me feel pretty uncomfortable as well to be honest.

Some people seem to take Answerbank too seriously and it seems to become quite a large part of their life. I like AB, but at the end of the day it's just one of many Internet sites I visit. I do spend quite a bit of time on AB while my wife watches TV but I never lose sight of the fact that there's more to life than this. As soon as I switch off or turn to something else then that is it. AB is forgotten.

I agree with many ABers, disagree with others and have bad days when I post something tactless then clear off to straighten myself out. I think many Abers are like that. I do think some posters take it all too much to heart though. If they don't like a thread or post then just go and do something else or look at anothert thread. I go to watch aircraft or watch Jerry Lee Lewis on YouTube.

Perhaps if his comments, in this instance, had been constructive, supportive or helpful they'd still be on the thread in question. As it happens they were none of these and were quite rightly pulled. Indded some of my comments to him, including the one telling him to Foff were also removed- do you hear me throwing a tatnrum about it? No, I rightly know that these kinda comments aren't appreciated on this forum.

All i can say is good riddance to a pompous, vicious, sleazy old man.
