We should be allowed to dislike any group of people for whatever reason we see fit. Surely it is out human right to do so.
So why is it ok to say we don't like say the French or Germans or Germans but as soon as anyone says they don't like someone from a country with a slightly darker skin colour then everyone starts jumping up and down screaming racist?

Why can one not generalise when it comes to race or nationality?

Earlier in my life I was stung once or twice by wasps. I know a number of other people who have also been stung by wasps. It is not a pleasant experience and not one I would care to repeat. As a result I dislike all wasps. Not for being wasps, but for what they might do to me. I don’t like them near me and go to great lengths to stay away from them.

This is not irrational. It is not “waspist”. It is simply forming an opinion and modifying behaviour as a result of experiences.

New Judge if you were run over by a bloke in a red car, would you then hate all drivers of red cars?

daoji, I personally don't think so, I think political correctness is a term used against the 'moral superioirty' nowadays almost as an excuse so proclaim one's independence of views.
There is no race or religion marching over another, it's only ever a group of people from that race or religion, to stand against those individuals is fine, to stand against anyone of or following that race / religion simply for the fact that they are associated, through no choice of their own, to the smaller group, is wrong and fundamentally bigoted.
Possibly or possibly not, Dave. It depends what sort of lasting impression the event left me with. But it would be my prerogative to do so, and so it should be with nationality or race.

New Judge you are with out doubt correct as long as it remains your prejudice.
No...I didn't mean him. I meant anyone who claims to dislike the entire indigenous population of a country.
I think we are perfectly entitled to dislike whomsoever we jolly well choose.......whether we have a right to articulate this dislike, however, is a different matter; it may make us sound deranged or intolerant, especially if it is just a knee-jerk response or a blanket dislike for no particular good reason...

I only dislike people with whom I have had personal dealings with and who for whatever reason I dont want to again.Religion creed culture or whether their Aunt is called Fanny doesnt come into it.
I dont get it -im too simplistic-we're aw Jock Thamsans bairns...
You are right Dris but the Tribal and Territorial instincts run deep. Maybe too deep to be open to logic.
It is surely ridiculous to say that you hate all French people or any other nationality for that matter - you seem fairly unpleasant but it would be illogical to ascribe your personal attributes to all members of your Nation whatever it may be.
Why hate anybody? Hate is a very strong emotion, why not say that you have just read the daily mail and your emotions are a little out of balance. If you really do hate other nations/races then perhaps some kind of therapy might help. A holiday in a foreign country can be very curative.
I dislike all chelsea fans but only since last night
NJ - This is not irrational. It is not “waspist”. It is simply forming an opinion and modifying behaviour as a result of experiences.

Yes, but at the same time you know that every wasp has the potential to sting but doesn't have the intelligence to decide not to.
