God or Bankers. What's the difference?

At this very moment in time, thousands, if not millions of people will be praying to their God for the people of Japan. So in effect they are asking the person who allowed the earthquake and tsunami to occur, to help it's victims.

In much the same way, a lot of the world's economies are in freefall with millions of people being thrown into poverty over the actions of greedy capitalistic bankers. These very same bankers in many cases are in charge of getting everyone out of this mess.

So is there a link here?

Flob ..I think you have put your finger on something relevant. It seems to have escaped almost everyones notice that the *ankers are borrowing our money at 2% and lending it to us at 15%, how could they not make huge profits and pay themselves massive bonuses for their astonishing cleverness.

No, no link at all.

Banks are businesses which exist to make a profit, and have always charged more for money they lend than they pay the people who give them the money to lend. They also play a fairly important part in our society, so we are stuck with them.

God, whoever he or she may be, set down a set of rules for living well and said follow my rules and you'll get to whatever heaven there is, don't follow them and you'll regret it for a very long time - either way, the choice is yours.

Just because we happen to live on a ball of rock which has the occasional disaster, there is no promise in there that God will intervene to prevent disasters. So people live, then they die, and what happens after that is anyone's guess.
