I've just read on the internet that there is a prediction that the world is going to end on 21st December 2012 (apparantly a lot of people are aware of this so I don't know how I missed hearing about it!).

I wonder how people get so caught up in it and actually think its going to happen oldgeezer, everyone's time is up at some point...no point in worrying!

I might start something on the internet for a few centuries time cazzz, people will believe anything!

It's because the Mayan calendar stops at that date. All these doomsday sayers are going to look pretty silly when we all wake up fine on the 22nd....

People love a 'conspiracy' theory - of which this is merely a variant.

If we can all discuss this, and band together with the common 'threat' it makes us feel better.

If I'm being honest, I do think something major is going to happen in the next year or two, it is a feeling which I cannot shake, thought I don't think it will be the end of the world so much as a major catastrophe. At the end of the day, if I'm wrong, it's no biggy.

If people keep making these type f predictions then somebody in the near or distant future will be proved right. Their only problem will be they won't be there to say "I told you so".

flobadob, what sort of thing do you feel will happen? I'm one of those people who just lives life day to day not worrying about things happening, there's not much one can do to prevent events in life. It would do my head in waiting a year or two on something happening!!
