Mormon Callers
49 Answers
Two very personable young mormon men have just called at our door. Whilst I did not engage with them in respect to their religion I cannot help but admire them & Jehovah's Witnesses for calling in this way They must get so many refusals and even abuse but they still continue to call.
I realise that people do feel that they are intruding but I cannot be rude to them
How do other people feel

I do tell them kindly that it does not interest me because I don't believe in what they do. If that doesn't register then yes, I am rude.
The JW doorknockers are trained from a very early age that it is their duty to do canvassing and are taught the art of salesmanship. They are trained to sidestep negativity commends and firmly believe that they are right. Some are poor souls that are helped through a family tragedy or financial struggle (yes, JW can be supportive) and feel obliged to send their kids to join the fairy brigade.

it depends on my mood.... im never rude to them....sometimes i will say politely im not interested... sometimes i offer to swap literature with them.... sometimes i will talk to them ..i always seem to get the same 4 or 5 people coming 'in shifts' surely by now they should realise when they have called 48378 times that they should just walk on past
When they come to the door, I am always polite and tell them I am not interested. But recently on my short trip to York, I was approached in a park by 3 females - lucky you I hear you say - whilst I was eating my lunch. That I found intrusive and I must admit I did give them a polite flea in the ear (not the usual **** off!!)

I too have had Mormon visitors. They were very polite and so was Mr. Cupid
and I. We invited them in on condition that if they could tell us about their
faith, Mr. Cupid and I could tell them about ours. After all we worship the
same God. If more people were tolerant of one anothers beliefs what a better
world it would be. It dosen't cost anything to be respectful and civil.
