sandy and truthabounds or any other theist. Please answer a simple question .
When Madeline Macain disappeared ten of milliions of people from all denominations all over the world prayed that she would be found, even the Pope got involved calling upon Catholics everywhere to pray for her,and as you know her devout parents mounted a world wide appeal for prayers.
Result ? Nothing ! Now 4 years later there is still not a single clue.
Why , why , why ? If millions of prayers are not answered in any form, what chance does your single prayer stand. ?

sandy // I pray a decade of the Rosary each evening for all on AB, but especially the agnostics. //
I expect sandy you also prayed for Madeline and it failed. Why ?

//Five consecutive posts ending in "masturbation" //

//@beso, Look, I'm quite relaxed about all this. I don't think you have read my posts carefully. The question is about prayer, and I say it can take many forms not necessarily anything to do with the old testament of the bible. Five consecutive posts ending in "masturbation" doesn't sound particularly cool to me.//

Khandro, I believe the term used was 'spiritual masturbation'. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it . . . or have you? I might just have a go at it myself, just to see what all the fuss is about.

Hmmm . . . the mind boggles.
mibn2cweus, I think it is something to do with pulling your pud over the Virgin Mary :-)
prayers do not always fail...and why do non believers start praying to god when there life is at risk...as apparently they do not believe in him?

They don't, you would just like to think they do. If they did I think it would just be desperation by clutching at straws, cant blame them for that, they are dying!!
exactly my point, if they are dying they start praying to god which must show there pretty stupid if they do not believe in god but pray to him when they are dying?

And here I was looking for the centerfold. :o/
trying to change the subject i see? ;)

I think a dying person is excused trying anything to save his life, dont you, he would probably pray to the Easter bunny as well if he thought there was a cat in hells chance!!! Actually he would probably stand a better chance of praying to the Easter bunny, a lot more forgiving than your murderous God!!
@mibn, No I haven't tried it, but if you need advice ask beso, I'm sure he's an expert in this field of activity! Also as I seem to be coming the unpaid spokesman for the Almighty, I thought I'd better have wings, hence the new avatar.
wow, you know what...i have never seen anyone pray to the easter bunny, have you?
sith123, try it, the results are identical to praying to god!
yes, but praying to the easter bunny makes no sense whatsoever.
//yes, but praying to the easter bunny makes no sense whatsoever. // well done!!

My point exactly!
but god is a totally different thing
Not really, just another fairy story!!

Khandro, Thanks for the reference but I suspect beso is confident in my capabilities to work it out for myself. All the same, when you consider which of the two, prayer or the other is more likely to demonstrate a persuasively convincing outcome . . . well what would be wrong with simply letting the results speak for themselves? -

@mibn. Hillarious! In earlier posting I thought the blindness may have been caused by anger, but I now suspect this may not be the full picture.
