My three boys and their friends could all have been described as 'skinny'. It wasn't because they were underweight, they were properly fed but physically active in play and sport, even if kicking a ball around on the street could be described as sport. This meant that they were growing vertically, not horizontally. Generally, I expect to see chubby babies and infants, but not chubby children who are either overfed or underactive. I exclude from this those who have genuine health issues.
