What have you given up for 40 days of Lent?

I live such a frugal and abstemious life already that I can't really see anything to give up. So, I've dusted down my hair shirt and I'll wear it for the next 40 days.

I sometimes wish I could. I think it's addictive.
I am giving up quitting smoking!
Off to get 20 Tena Lights.
I can't afford a hair shirt. Good luck with that!

I remember that old song we used to sing in assembly in Junior school - first line was '40 days and 40 nights, thou wast fasting in the wild'. Had a jolly tune as well.

You shouldn't dust down hair shirts, the extra insulation is invaluable when on a diet of cold gruel and pond water.
I've given up all hope of ever becoming a nun. ;o)

In protest, I have decided to go the other way and feast, drink,smoke, gamble, be merry and go out wenching
nothing. i love myself too much to deny myself anything.
Given up chocolate and thought I'd throw swearing in as well, it seems to flow too easily these days, I have to stop!
To all the religious...I bet that Pancake tastes so sweet in your memory now!
Personally I'm doing nothing different. Religion makes no sense to me and has no influence on my life.
