Looking back is there anything you wished you had asked someone and now the moment has gone and you may never know .Remember a man said to me he would not drive a nail in on Good Friday now was he saying in other term he would do no work on that day or because of the day it is he would not as he said drive a nail in to a piece of wood .Hes dead now so will never know.Should have asked what he actually ment .Dosent matter but often think of him and what he said.

No. I talk too much to have any unanswered questions :-)
And I'd ask anything. I don't realise how close to the mark it is until I get an elbow in the ribs :-)
Weecalf, did he mean that he wouldn't be part of hurting someone? Driving a nail in on Good Friday would remind you of the crucifixion.
I agree with Sandy - he was probably a Christian, who would keep Good Friday as a day of rest like a Sunday, and the nails would be a constant reminder of the nails driven in when Jesus was nailed to the cross. In the same way, some Christians don't eat meat on Good Friday (maybe Catholics practise this?)
My Late mother in law... 'Did you know your son was gay when I married him?'
I wished I'd asked wangtinggg why they wasted their time before they got banned.

I would have thought he ment as you both say the death on the cross but it could have been his way of saying he did not do any work on that day.
My great uncle fought in WWI and I loved to listen to his account of life in the trenches. He is long since dead but there are so many questions I wish I'd asked him about his time in the war
Didn't you say you'd had same sex relationships Rowan?
Too many things....but i do think that some people had things that they didn't want me to know and would not have wanted to answer....some secrets are best let lie.

No I did not mean out of being nosey .Things which would have been answered if they had been asked and maybe even the person would have been delighted to answer.
My parents were both black haired, olive skinned, rotund midgets who had ten children. Eight of the ten are clones of mum and dad, but me and one brother (a consecutive sibling) are tall (I'm 6ft, he's 6'5), slim and fair. Our eldest sister(witch!) has insinuated we are the result of mum having an affair. As both parents are dead, we'll never know.
I personally couldn't give a stuff, but my brother is eaten up over the subject so I would have liked to have asked for the truth for his sake.
Strange timing for me, this question. I had a childhood friend who emigrated when we were teens. Some years later she stopped all contact even when home for a visit. Last Monday circumstances meant we had to meet up. After some awkwardness it came out. My Mother had, when my friend visited her while I was abroad, told her the most awful lie about me. Too hurtful to put here. It does also explain the strange behaviour of a few relatives. I am still reeling from what was said.
I was a very unwanted baby and Mum was always cold and unkind to me but this was beyond everything I thought she could do.
I wish I had asked my friend why she no longer contacted me instead of putting it down to time passing and lives changing.
The asking wouldn't have been nosiness....
gness, that's dreadful. (((( )))) Big hug. x
gness, that is so sad xx
Very nasty mom, gness feel sorry for you.

This came into my head ,the example I gave was just trivial compared to your example .Hope you enjoy happiness gness
Thank you all. As said before this is the Mum who threw me out at fifteen for dating the non-catholic. But I made a nice, happy life for myself. Got her into a home last year after caring for her for five years when she developed dementia so I can`t even ask her why she did it now which is SO frustrating!
Sadly some of us do not get the parents we deserve or need.... I thought mine was bad....

Married then flexible now getting married again its about people to me not equipment
