Was it not so that your Jesus allegedly burned an innocent sheep to a crisp with a thunder bolt on his way to the last supper, just to try and impress. What a cruel and heartless action.

jomifl, well I could claim that Im trying out a few of these different religions to see which one suits my needs, I will pass on the marrying of a 12 year old and I wont be joining the church choir. Im not sure whether

////keyplus I have read the Koran the Hadith and discussed it with a number of hajis. and studied a number of papers on that very point, and given talks on a better understanding of Islam.////
Oh, really. Then what Bible (according to your given talks) Sunni or Shia believe in?
Duncer//// ......but many religions. How do you reconcile this? Are they all right, or is just one religion right, leaving a lot of disappointed and hell bound people?////
How do I reconcile that? Very easy, People of all of the religion should act upon the teachings of THEIR OWN religion. For example Bible talks about “ONE GOD ONLY TO BE WORSHIPED” then why Christians believe in Trinity? Having said that Trinity is the base of Christianity and the word (or even concept) is nowhere to be found in Bible. Same goes to Hindu religion. Their books talks about ONLY ONE GOD, their books forbid any idol worship. And what they do? We all know. Other way of doing is that if a Christian can bring me the book given to Jesus (pbuh) I will have no hesitation in believing every single word of that just as we being Muslim can’t be Muslim if we do not believe in Jesus (pbuh) being a Prophet.
Rest of the posts are typical (we will never agree) response from atheist brigade so therefore does not need wasting of time.

keyplus #Oh, really. Then what Bible (according to your given talks) Sunni or Shia believe in? #
Sorry I don't understand what you are asking.?
#Very clearly Modeller does not even know that Sunni or Shia do not believe in Bible #
Let's get this clear are you saying Islam does not believe a single word in the bible or just parts of it ?
Correct me if I'm wrong but both Sunni and Shia are Muslims and Abram and his son Ishmael founded the shrine Kaaba at Mecca . It was Ishmael who established the Arab people as distinct from the Jews. If you look at the list of Islamic prophets prior to Muhammad (pbuh) they are all in the bible.
I know you don't accept Christ as the son of God , neither do I , but Islam does accept him as a prophet in the bible. Further to that you (Islam ) say that God had given all the prophets information up to Christ and then gave the final and complete information to Muhammad (pbuh).
As I said earlier we are all people of the book and our three religions are grounded in the old testament.

Keyplus in my copy of the Quaran this verse 29:46 covers the question we are discussing . However I have found an analysis of it on the web which you may like to read. http:// www.ans wering- ...rg/S hamoun/ q29_46. htm

Modeller - 29-46 you quoted talks about Injil (or say Bible for the argument sake) given to Jesus (pbuh). Bible we have today may contain parts of that but these are words or Mark, Luke, John etc. And said that earlier that if a Christian (or Jew) can bring original books given to Moses, Jesus (pbuh) then no Muslim will deny them. Then there are so many different versions of Bible, even Christians do not know which one is right.
keyplus //Then there are so many different versions of Bible, even Christians do not know which one is right.//
Easy. None of them. Just as it is with the Qur'an.
The notion that some ancient, ignorant men had access to supreme knowledge is ludicrous. These men arrogantly assumed they were communicating with an all powerful deity when they were actually relating to their own egos.
Any objective analysis of the Arab holy texts reveals them as nothing more than institunionalised prejudice and quite obviously the musings of men with unmistakably fascist, misogynist attitudes.
The Abrahamic religions are a blight on humanity and the sooner we educate everyone about their fundamental premises the sooner the generations that constitute our future will make informed decisions and reject the miserable tenets of a philosophy built on the ravings of man who was about to murder his son.

keyplus we appear to agree on 29-46 which is a comfort .
However on your next point:
#And said that earlier that if a Christian (or Jew) can bring original books given to Moses, Jesus (pbuh) then no Muslim will deny them. #
You ask for written evidence which I agree doesn't exist but neither does any written evidence of the words given to Muhammad (pbuh ) when he was alone in a cave on several occasions. ( Have you noticed throughout the Bible and the Koran God never gives words in front of witnesses.)
We only have his word and he didn't even tell his wife nor any of his friends until sometime later . I know the claimed reason was fear that they would upset the clerics. Which is a valid excuse but just like all the other prophets we only have their words which can not be proved. I assume you have read the Hadith which is more readable than the Koran but it describes
his state of mind and body and they are similar to those experienced with a seizure On the first occasion he said it lasted over an hour. That doesn't matter it's better than Moses going up a mountain but neither does it make his experience any more valid.
May I add as an atheist I am neutral and see all the Abrahamic faiths with equal scepticism . I also admire you for defending your beliefs so forcibly .
