What astonishes me about the gullibility of these people is that they never ask themselves how on earth they manage to know what Jesus looked like. For all anyone knows he might have been short and fat, with a round pimply face and a bald head. The same applies to 'images' of Mary. Always tall, elegant, with a peaches-and-cream complexion and sometimes blonde (!). Never short and dark , with swarthy features and a Jewish nose (which can be very attractive) and perhaps plumpish from a diet of fatty lamb and olives.
