Apparently in the bible god killed an abundance of people and the devil only killed two or three. Obviously there's no way of getting through all of god's murders as there would be too many to mention here, but was a record kept of the devil's victims?

When God set the cosmos in motion he ordained it so that eventually all life would die. Compared to him the devil's little more than an apprentice.
birdie@ Do you think? When the natural desire of all normal persons is to live at peace, why is it so common for people to hate and make a practice of killing one another? It truly is a paradox, “We can accept without a qualm the idea of incinerating hundreds of thousands or millions of women and children whom under normal conditions we should be glad to cherish.

Today in 21st century. Victims of war are regularly mangled and maimed. How can civilized people treat one another this way? What forces drive them to such loathsome deeds, or maneuver them into the situation where they feel compelled to commit them? It is certainly not amiss to raise, Can some wicked, invisible power be influencing humans to these acts of violence? Is there really a Devil? Do not dismiss these questions with the reply that this is just the way men are.

Because in the meantime, Satan the Devil has exercised unseen influence over human affairs. He is the one responsible for the fact that although ‘nearly everybody wants peace on earth,’ they fight and slaughter one another by the millions. Yes, it is because of his evil influence that all efforts to establish lasting peace fail, even though ‘almost all the peoples of the world feel good will toward one another.’

Yes,The Bible explains that the Devil is “the ruler of this world.” It also calls him “the god of this system of things.” (John 12:31; 2 Cor. 4:4) How clear it is that these Bible statements are true! The record of human history unquestionably indicates that an unholy, wicked force is behind human rulers, driving them to wicked deeds. Unless you are blind to there things.
Goodlife, birdie asked you to give him an example of the 'reliable evidence' you were referring but the evidence you present cannot be considered ‘reliable’. See the problem is there is no evidence that the Devil exists – just as there is no evidence that God exists – and therefore, it is simply irrational to attribute the unknown to the unknown – be it good or bad. People may write anything that takes their fancy – but that isn’t evidence that what they’ve written is accurate. Quite simply, you have no evidence.
Goodlife, Just how does god duck responibility for his own creation. If he created the universe then he is responible for everything in it. It really is that simple according to your views. Any other explanation does not put god in a very good light and the brighter that light the less visible he /she becomes.
Until the day on which we no longer blame our human failures and shortcomings on unseen influences comes to pass, we are doomed to repeat them. We are all, each of us as individuals, inescapably and unavoidably responsible for the consequences of our beliefs, and the subsequent choices and actions that follow from them. "The devil made me do it." simply doesn't wash.
You say I have no evidence, yes I do - you're my evidence you are all as at 2 Cor. 4:4 says
For those who don’t know what 2 Corinthians 4:4 says, here you are, copied and pasted from the internet.

//2 Corinthians 4:4
New International Version (NIV)

4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.//

I’m not sure why you think you are justified in holding anyone who doesn’t think as you do in disdain, but firstly I would ask who ‘the god of this age’ is (or did the author mean ‘that’ age?); secondly, since no one has ever seen God I would ask how the author knew that Christ was the image of him or possessed the same dubious attributes – because the way I read it he didn’t – and thirdly …. and this is the biggee …… I think I’ve found a solution to my godlessness. Yes! I am no longer blind! I’ve seen the light. Zeus! And I have evidence because I’ve read all about him in an old book – so it must be true. And we all know what his daughter, Pandora – the first woman on earth – did! What a trouble-maker! Just like Eve!

See how it works, Goodlife?

Just to reiterate, my original qustion was not a joke. As far as I am aware, what I claimed in the question, is in line with the bible stories, though I'm not 100% on that.

By the way Naomi, you say it was answered in Tamborine's link. However, from what I read of that link there is only circumstantial evidence that it was Satan who brought forth that wind, it could just as easily have been God Himself.
Goodlife, keep them engaged in conversation. It was said of the Quaker, George Fox, that some came to scoff but stayed to pray. Who can say what miracles you may yet achieve here in R&S.
Flob, not really. You see, God said to Satan “Behold, all that he [Job] hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand.” - so we must assume that Satan was given leave to do as he liked, as long as he didn’t harm Job. Wasn’t that a rotten thing for God to do to someone he considered “a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil.”

Not really related, but from the same link, an interesting question from one allegedly omniscient.

//And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou?//

Wonder why he didn’t know? Perhaps Goodlife can tell us.

Goodlife, I’ve thought a bit more about your appalling attitude towards non-believers. What exactly, in your opinion, makes them so worthy of your criticism?
Question Author
Yes Naomi, but it is still circumstantial. Like framing someone.
Flob, yes, I suppose it is - if you don't believe it. ;o)
Question Author
All I would say is innocent til proven guilty. Let's look at the facts. A guy who has no record of murder is told by an alleged mass murderer that he is not to murder someone, but he is allowed to murder that persons children. So he goes and murders them. I'm not buying it.
Flob, I like your logic.
Sandy, a conversation has at least 2 participants, so Goodlife must have a split personality because I don't see much evidence that 'it' (gender not set) listens, let alone understands.
It’s odd, isn’t it, Jom, that our aspirer after sainthood can find common cause and even show affection for fundamentalist bigots who predict exactly the same future for him as they do to the atheists on this thread: on the one hand annihilation and on the other eternal torment. It’s a rather extreme case of “Love thine enemies”, a fine Christian principle which Sandy only very rarely forgets. BTW, can you remember which circle of Hell Mahomet was/is found in, Sandy?
He would have a tomb of fire in the 6th Circle which is reserved for heretics.
I am no great fan of Goodlife but he is indefatigable and keeps the AB Godless on their toes. If he wasn't here they would have no obvious target for their jibes and, Heaven forfend, might even turn against each other.
Sandy, you are mistaken, Goodlife doesn't keep anyone on their toes. He might elicit(sorry mike) the odd groan of despair but that is about all. I only answer 'it' occasionally lest it think 'it' is being deliberately ignored beause it has arguments too powerful to be countered. Anargument recognisable as such would be a god start.
indefatigability is no great recommendation in itself Mao Tse Tung, Pohl Pot,
Satan & Ayatollah Khomeini, all quite persistant but hardly loveable.
