Will Savile lose his Papal Knighthood .

The Archbishop of Westminster has asked the Pope to strip Savile of his Papal Knighthood , which is pointless as it dies with his death but it could be removed from their rolls of Knights but what is the likelihood of the RC church of punishing anyone accused of sexual abuse.or any other abuse for that matter. ?

Excuse me if I'm wrong methyl, but that comes across as very pompous indeed. Savile is almost certainly a paedophile who preyed on young girls by using a position of power and influence. Raleigh and Drake, to my knowledge, were not. They are hardly justifiable comparisons.

Probably - but two wrongs don't make a right. C'mon methyl, there's only so much a child in a care home can do when confronted with an establishment figure such as Jimmy Savile, even if they had the cojones to speak out in the first place. Your argument is disingenuous in the extreme.

Doing good works, good deeds may outweigh certain trivial or venal sins, and could even perhaps be viewed as a kind of atonement. Maybe thats what SoVile thought in his head.

I do not think that applies in this case. Some of those abused were children, some disturbed or deprived children. Others just come into adulthood. And there is more than a suggestion that he used the perks of his good works - office/rooms at certain institutions, in furtherance of his own unhealthy fixations on selfish gratification, regardless of the damage he did.

It would be bad enough if it was just 1 or 2 individuals - but it appears he practiced such abuse on an industrial scale. I do not think his dignity or his memory should be spared in such a case.

Strange analogy - a troll is now someone who would dare express an opinion on somebody that you like? I don't trust the press either, but surely even you must admit that the rising mountain of evidence is becoming incontrovertible? His "good works" now seem like a smoke screen, not the actions of a devout Catholic. Glad you like him.
