Goodlife, you misguided Joeboe:
"As to disfellowshipping. We do not cut them off, they cut themselves off. Within families they can still associate but would not discuss spiritual things"
That is UTTER B0LLOCKS.
My Father's side of our family suffered an infestation of joeboism some years ago and one of my uncles disfellowshipped HIS OWN CHILDREN, because they escaped joeboeism. He did this despite attempts by them to keep contact with their father. Another of my uncles has nothing to do with his OWN SISTER, which has left her heartbroken.

Is there such a thing goodlife? Surely not, because it's contradiction in terms, or can you convince me to the contrary? I just looked at the link, which you provided with interest, but I'm still not convinced that if Atheists wish to socialise with each other I don't think it would be in a 'congregation' style setting. In my experience, I have found that most Atheists don't even declare their non-belief, it's just not an issue. The Atheist people as in the footage, are just up for social gatherings, which isn't a trait of a true non-believer. I think, and these are only my thoughts, most Atheists are fact and figure types, and the other team ruled by emotions? Generally speaking. Dunno? what do you think of that then?

I attended the annual service of Twelve Lessons and Carols for the Ungodly, held in the Bloomsbury Theatre, this Christmas. The opening carol praised Jesus while simultaneously pointing out the absurdities in what we are taught about him. The other songs were distinctly secular. The 'lessons' consisted of some surprising science being demonstrated, short funny talks about neuroscience, maths etc mixed in with stand up comedy
GoodlifeJoeboe:
Pardon me, slight mistake there, what I was referring to was "excommunication".
We are talking hysterical Joeboe DISOWNING of one's own family members here, not some faith related 'they're not in the club now' avoidance of certain subject matters. Disgusting.
I love it when the Joeboes come knocking, they usually end up trying to get away from me!

This is not about JWs. All I did was put in a report by the BBC about atheism.
Now you know how it feels to be criticised and false/incorrect/inaccurate put around by people who may not know all the facts.
DT can put up many links regarding JWs and I can do the same, but it goes against my christian principles.

Goodlife, //Now you know how it feels to be criticised and false/incorrect/inaccurate put around by people who may not know all the facts.//
Rest assured, there aren’t many here that misunderstand you.
Keyplus, //I have always believed that no religion itself is a religion.//
You believe a lot of things that aren’t true.
