Not a religeous sketch but funny all the same.
Dave is dressed in a business suit walking down a busy main road, a large posh car is parked next to the curb. Underneath one of the wheels is a £10 pound note (a lot of money then). He tries to get the note by discretely using his shoe and then the tip of an umbrella. When this fails he notes a cafe across the road with a large plate window. He decides to wait in comfort for the driver to return and then retrieve the note. So he waits in a packed cafe buying lots of cups of tea for several hours, until finally the driver returns. Dave spotting this suddenly gets up and makes a beeline for the door. However it seems he wasnt the only one who knew about the note and the entire crowd in the cafe make a rush across the road!! You then see the face of Dave look in amazement as he misses out on the lucrative find!!!

Why does everybody assume that if you've got a faith then you must have had your sense of humour removed? I love Dave allen's observations of the church. I think people seem to think that all christians are like those portrayed on television, ie, Dot Cotton on Eastenders and Mrs Tembe on Doctors.
Well I'm nothing like that. I don't mind having a laugh as long as it's not nasty. By the way DT, I couldn't get your link, don't know why!

Thats a great clip DT - Sad loss to comedy when Dave Allen went - he was particularly funny when it came to his treatment of religion.

haha brilliant, Dave Allen could get away with mocking Christianity because he was never malicious with it.

Originally Dave Allen was great but like many comedians as their talent wanes or that of their script writers they resort to crudity. It doesn't work for long , its just not funny , it's not clever . It doesn't require intelligence to swear or make obcene remarks. I once went to one of his shows and there wasn't much applause but when I heard it on the radio the potted applause was enormous.

I don't remember Dave allen ever being crude. and just because he's not your cup of tea there are thousands [including myself ] who find him very funny.
It's the comedians of today that feel they have to swear and be obscene to raise a few laughs.
