Two lovely old ladies just knocked on my door. I didn't want to answer, as I knew who they were, but in my quest of 'being a better person' (and the fact it is raining!) I answered.

I told them I didn't feel well and now was not a good time - which is true.
BUT... rather than just leave it at that, I said "but please do come back another time"....??!! Why!!!
They were really pleased with that and said "oh thank you (surprised tone). We will".

They've given me three leaflets to "read through when I'm feeling better".

One of them is a copy of the current Watchtower, the next one is a "One Man Died For All" leaflet, and the other (bizarrely) is "How To Be A Good Father".... er....

Are you as polite to JW's, or do you tell them where to go?

I find they don't bother you is you explain you are a Satanist and you are actively looking for servants of God to sacrifice at the next Sabbat. Pity really, because the Satanist movement could do with a few more converts.

Lol. Sorry about that. I was in the bath!
I always tell JW I've already found Jesus.

But what if they start asking questions!
I don't beat around the bush, I'll tell them I'm not interested.
When my late husband was drinking and I was out, he invited two very nice young Mormons in. Needless to say, they never came back.
I'm always polite and tell them I'll have a look at the leaflets, but I never do.

I'd like to be straight with them and tell them I don't share their beliefs, but I always chicken out.
In a polite way I tell them I'm not interested but occasionally take a (gentle) pop at them. If they are persistent - which I find rare these days - I tell them how JW busted up half of my family. I often call them 'Joeboes' to their face.
What a silly bunch you are! Ha ha. I can't stop laughing.
You really are a sad lot. But one thing is for sure you are only repeating history. I have said it before and I will say it again, when the time comes you cannot say you "did not know - no one told me".

Anyway, Jesus tends to weep for those who turn away from Him, not laugh at them. Go home and start following your religion better and come back here when you know what you are talking about.
id never be rude to them............i just say im happy with my chosen faith. and i have no wish to delay them :)
"did not know - no one told me". People like you have been telling us for thousands of years and nobody has been right yet.(see jim360s list) Why should we believe you?
Darn it. Just ignored a knock on the door. From the posted leaflets, I can tell it was the JW's. Darn darn darn, I was looking forward to using Old_Geezers suggestion! Shall I chase after them?
Read this and prepare yourself for their next visit, I can assure you that they will mark your address in the diary for not to bother again.

Just a quickie as I am a tad busy today...

Goodlife, I apologise if I've offended you in any way. That was not my intention, I can assure you.
I was merely wondering if other people were so polite when it came to JW's knocking on their doors. I see no reason to be rude to them, but it can get a bit frustrating when they don't seem to pay attention to a courteous "no thank you".

They'll be back this weekend, so I'll have a look at KeyPlus's link and get myself prepared.

:-)
Goodlife, IMO you are both deluded and have delusions of grandeur.
