The Prince Of Darkness In Disguise.
30 Answers
Has any of the religious people ever wondered if, considering the misery, poverty and unbelievable cruelty throughout the word right under their God's omnipotent nose, that their idol is Satan in sheep's clothing, trying to pull the wool over their eyes, and Lucifer is really the good One who is portrayed in the bad light by the Faith?
This would make more sense to me than the usual "it's god's will' reaction to any bad event.

//The notion that god is in fact the devil in disguise is not one that can be easily dismissed and yet I suspect that a few will have a go by using the cast-iron proof provided by their holy texts...//
. . . never having considered between the two of them, which was most likely the author of those texts.

We can always resort to the bible for a circular argument.
Jeremiah 14:14
Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds.

Yes! Thank you! Someone finally said it! I think that is totally possible, because people are so diluted and convinced to follow God with no questions asked and hate Satan no matter what. There is something really strange I have noticed as well. When I finally commit to God, bad events transpire in my life and I feel horrible. And I always thought that I'm a bad person for thinking that Satan might not be all that bad, because that's what my parents drill into my head.
So, yes, I have thought about this.

The Cathars of South west France thought that the god as recognised by the orthodox and catholic chrstian church was really the devil. They were persecuted to oblivion by the evolving catholic church with the result that many thousands of innocent people were burnt to death in the name of the all forgiving christian god. irony isn't in it.;-(
By the way it is even more ironic since neither god nor the devil have ever been proved to exist.

In order for us today to counteract the ridicule of Atheists ridiculers whose arising was foretold for these “last days,” it is very urgent that we believers recall what God inspired prophets said, even though this was long before the appearing of these modern-time ridiculers, scoffers, mockers.
All the way from the antediluvian prophet Enoch down through almost three thousand years to the postexilic Jewish prophet Malachi, Jehovah’s prophets who preceded Jesus Christ have foretold events and conditions due to mark these “last days.” So it is really nothing unexpected that faith-destroying ridiculers should arise in these “last days” of this wicked system of things. Rather, their arising simply confirms the accuracy of the prophecies by fulfilling them.

Again with the unattributed cut and paste? How often must you be told?
Really not at all sure how much credence or attention we should give to a sub-sect of christianity, one that proclaims that only it is the true voice of god, which has regularly made false prophecies- Quite apart from the principle that prophecy is bunkum anyway....
Exactly how much credibility can the JWs have when their false prophecies are catalogued?

Malachi 4: "1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts."
I particularly like verse 3: mature toleration, yes?
