Do You Look Beyond The Things You See?

Like it or not, we daily see things we would prefer not to see, and when we look at the daily newspaper or the television screen, accounts of injustice, cruelty, and tragedy leap out to tug at our heartstrings.

the people who are most guilty of not looking deeper or beyond things are the religious - who consistently refuse to see beyond their shallow little lives, the lives they lead they are ruled by a dusty old book and what they were told as kids.
they believe that because they delude themselves about religion, that they are somehow deeply spiritual and have meaningful lives - when actually it is their fear of actually looking any deeper into life, the universe and everything, that makes them cling to their crutch
it is they who are poor and who are wasting their lives.

Infomaniac @ No,the purposes still stand in spite of what senseless critics of this synthetic civilization say or do.
So why are so many people spiritually blind, does not everyone want to see the light.
Well from a natural standpoint, you could say yes, most people do want to see, but not so from a spiritual standpoint. Just as there are certain wild beasts that prefer the darkness to the light because of their predatory habits, poor eyesight, etc.
So to the facts show that, for one reason or another people prefer darkness to the light. You are the counterpart of the religious leaders of Jesus’ day. These were blind, not because of lack of light, for the Light had come into the world, but because they refused to see that Light, refused to recognize Jesus as the Messiah.— John 3:19-21.So simple, you are a poor lot.

Where are you getting all this from Goodlife? I've read you're last comment 5 times and I recognise the English words but you have put them together so they don't make any sense at all.
//No,the purposes still stand in spite of what senseless critics of this synthetic civilization say or do.//
What does this mean? What's a synthetic civilisation? Are you playing computer games?
Please try shorter sentences with one point at a time.

He can't, chrisgel. It's all toss from a prescribed sheet issued by the Watchtower.....
Of course, any thinking human takes in all experiences thrown their way, ecstatic, pleasurable, mundane, nasty, revolting and dastardly; that mix goes to formulating how we can improve family and maybe society at large, a small percentage of us taking that challenging, sometimes dangerous, leap forward, the ones called genuine leadership.
That, goodlife, doesn't necessarily require faith (of any denomination, be it warped or not by the beholder's perception); indeed, it's an innate skill of all good people; the corollary of which can be evil. That latter point needs to be recognised, just as much as the those that profess constructive advancement of society.

"So-called" charities are "Old World" organisations and therefore under the control of the devil. Goodlife would be compromising his position as a true Christian by supporting Oxfam or contributing however little to the tsunami appeal. Goodlife, who is very fond of the word "truth", has very different standards of verity from the rest of us and too little critical faculty to understand the nature of his puppeteers.
