I have no serious knowledge of the bible, but as I understand it, Jesus grew up regarded as a normal child, nothing special, it was an adult that he revealed himself as the Son Of God.

Therefore, as a child,his foreskin would have no more significance than any other baby boy born at that time - so how can it have been preserved as a relic?

If you read the bible, yes. Other literature, however, including the Koran, doesn't carry the same legend.

jake, that figure presumably doesn't take into account that circumcisees will now convince themselves that they cannot get aids and so take fewer precautions than they might otherwise have done :o)

I would say that people who are looking for Holy foreskin should get circumcised first to follow Jesus (pbuh).
