Even in the UK there is poverty, disease, fear etc. Okay, there is a good social system, but it is falling down.

If you read what I wrote you will also see that I did not say dictators wanted to annihilate the population of earth. I wrote that they wanted to wipe out "masses". But who is to say that if they had not been stopped it would not have extended to other communities etc.? Under the 5 cruelest dictators of the 20th Century it is estimated more than 35 million people lost their lives..

So I take it then that if one of your children/grand children should go missing for some time you will not be worried, you will not search for them. You will not panic if they were not where they should be.
As to hostile to humanitarian achievements - certainly not! But whatever mankind achieves, he cannot rid the earth of the poverty, disease, war, crime etc. He has had thousands of years and many different types of governments - but still these things are not eradicated.

God did not fail. He could quite easily wipe you and me out this instant. His sense of justice shows that not all humankind would be wicked he therefore gives everyone an opportunity to choose for themselves life or death - just as he did the Isrealites. See Deuteronomy 30 v 19 & 20.

The purveyors of your religion have often been in charge politically yet did absolutely nothing about poverty. They simply taxed everyone to pay for huge opulent buildings dedicated to the worship of your god while the poor lived in squalor.

Take some advice, believers don't have to justify their beliefs, that is what belief is about. As soon as you try to justify your beliefs it shows that you lack the true arrogance of a believer. Since you don't therefore believe 100% you are doomed not to pass the pearly gates so can stop pretending that you do believe and start living a normal life. God knows you better than you know yourself......(assuming that god exists )
