Most of the people were pagans and then there were few tribes of Jews. But they had heard about the coming of another Prophet and their knowledgeables did come with questions to confirm authenticity of the Prophet according to their knowledge. Once they saw or heard about the signs then many of them accepted it and converted to Islam as advised in the Bible. But few decided not to as they wanted that final messenger from Jews and not from the Arabs.

Lightbulb, //Muslims believe in all prophets, adam, Abraham, Jesus etc but that god sent them all down to preach Islam, and Muhammed is the final prophet.//
What a pity Allah didn't tell any of them except Mohammed that they were preaching Islam. Just imagine the trouble it would have prevented. Some friend he turned out to be. ;o)

Keyplus, ah, an offering from Dr. Zakir Naik. What a surprise – and what nonsense, as always. We’ve been through this before – step by step – word by word - and I can’t be bothered to do it again. Your scholars haven’t found Mohammed in the bible – they’ve put him there – just as they put whatever suits them into the Koran - and we've been there before too.
