Well Mikey, it's perhaps not beyond the realms of possibility that the defence may come from the UK!

Evidently there may have been nearer 2,000 followers once. The census of 2001 showed that only 1,800 ticked the scientology box as their choice of religion. Maybe the rest couldn't admit to it!

agchristie , you've bowled me a googly there , the RC Popes , very much linked to Europe , had problems being drawn in to that continent's wars , especially WW2 , Pope Francis represents a break from that and I'm very optimistic . If followers of this question ( believers and non believers alike ) paged through his tweets to get a better "feel " of his opinions I would be very happy ( some of his tweets are obviously aimed at the RC faithful ) .

I have answered this type of question before but it always gets me into a slanging match with you. But here it is again :::

There are no aliens on the Moon.

Scientology teaches that aliens came many years ago and shoved some thetans into our volcanos, etc,etc...all complete drivel. They used Dakotas apparently.

There probably IS life elsewhere in the Universe...simple logic would suggest that there is, as space is so vast, but I don't believe that aliens have visited us in the past and built the pyramids, etc, etc. There are no aliens on the Moon.

Finally, all religions are invented by Man, and its difficult to really sort one out from another, as they are all illogical and irrational.

No I don't. Supernatural beings are just made up, but some kind of life may exist on other planets. I hope you are satisfied but please say if you require any more illumination of my views on religion, although I find it somewhat tedious to keep repeating those views.

Mikey, the moon hasn’t been mentioned by anyone except you, but since you think it likely that life on other planets exists and that the concept of supernatural entities is ‘made up’, it follows that Scientology, although no doubt ‘drivel’-based’, cannot be the most ‘drivel’-based religion. No of course it doesn't agchristie ! Only too glad to debate this subject, although I can only do that from a atheist standpoint !

Some world religious leaders are capable of doing great good, such as the Arch Bish of Canterbury, and the Pope, because they are listened to, in a way that other politicians are not. It could be argued that Bishop Tutu did a great deal to help to remove apartheid in South Africa, for instance.
