What Will End Religion?
122 Answers
`Lets face it Religion brings nothing into humanity apart from war and is only used as a power of control and money. What will actually be the final straw when these old books are merely just a joke to out future generation? They will be looking back and laughing how stupid we were to follow what is merely a fairy tale.
What scientific discoveries will stop religion or what events?

Religion isn't the cause of war but it certainly is a tool to carry out war. In the same way some one screams insanity after they murdered someone. Banning religion is not the answer as there are too many simple minds who can't deal with reality at the moment. But we are evolving both with technology and an understanding of life. Religion is dying and will continue to do so. but eventually sometime soon it will be 100% disproven. But by what? Time travel? Finding the cause of the I'm probabilities that created life? Or that actually life as we
it isn't actually life and it is merely a projection of one of our souls created to keep ourselves from the insanity of eternity.

Yes it brings nothing but war as it is used as a tool for war.
I mean that there will be proof that religion is a mere fairy tale. Right now it can certainly not be proved and there are certain aspects of knowledge that disproves it. Such as the fact the earth is not the thing everything revolves around. But this has to be taken to the next stage and proved. I mean proved as to make simple minds understand it. Some people say proof doesn't exist as it is only a version of events which is the most improbable not to happen. But proof is our only basis with regards to our understanding right now so we will have to flow with it.

- ukanonymous , many thinking people including leading scientists have thought long and hard and come to the conclusion that energy , matter and life cannot create themselves , there must have been a creator . Modern science with its ability to demonstrate how extraordinarily complex even the most simple life forms are , actually reinforces their view .
As long as there is belief in a creator , there will always be religion .
You mention the wars caused by the political abuse of religion , but you omit that dark period in the 2nd quarter of the last century , when power was held by the Nazis who wanted to destroy Judaism ( the oldest religion ) on one side , and the communists who wanted to destroy all religion on the other side . These two then turned on each other unleashing the biggest massacre in the history of humanity . Historians can't calculate how many got killed during that period .
About the "fairy tales " and old books - The Bible gives a fascinating account of some of the most ancient history of humanity , put together from scriptures that were preserved over thousands of years in the case of the OT ( remember that we did not have the printing press until the 16th c.) The Bible contains historical accounts and numerous predictions . A couple of " Fairy-tale " predictions to think about :
Jesus said to Peter " Thou art Peter , and upon this rock I will build my Church , and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it " - 2000 yrs later the Church continues to grow , the church in Russia survived the attempt to destroy it and now thrives . Jesus kept his promise to Peter , and I believe that he will continue to keep his promise .
Secondly , predictions in Revelation about World Trade / World Banking , these were written long before banks were invented , are we now seeing these predictions come true before our eyes - the cashless society , contactless payments , microchip implants etc. ?
Well , I hope I've given you some things to ponder over ukanonymous . All the best .

benhilton thankyou for your thoughts but really every cell in my body is completely against any form of religion. Also your conception of time seams a little primitive which is no offence. Time is not how you think of it really. we dont just live and die. We actually don't die as that would mean we never existed in the first place. We are so hell bent living in fear of this concept we call reality that we lose the basic facts of why we actually are able to think. If you combine this with the fact that we cant just see or understand things then it is also left us pretty dumb and completely not enlightened about the universe. If it was a simple case of dying and living I would be very content but when I was young up untill the age of 10 I experienced nightmares where I was actually everything and everything was infinitely big. I could never really explain these dreams but from what I gather now looking back is that it was my Humanoid brain trying to translate what happened before my life begun. We cant comprehend an infinitely big place with no beginning or end so we fabricate a god to focus our energy on. I understand that but what a waste of time and effort.
We dont have all the answers now but we do have basic reasoning which means god does not exist. However soon we will have answers in the next 10 years.
But I tell you this. My life would be a lot more content if I truly believed in death is death. I dont believe we go to some ridiculous heaven or hell based on our actions or beliefs here I mean that would be completely ridiculous. Actually if this life was a test then the people who didn't believe in god should go to heaven for the reward of not following the crowd and having their own opinions.
I kind of like talking about this stuff apart from staring at computer code all day :)
