88 Answers
Question mainly for theists (atheists welcome to comment though) as a study shows that religious folk are prepared to take risks...

So it might be that the 'facts' we are establishing (or denying) may not be reliable.
In other words, nothing is supernatural, but it may be incomprehensible.

I don't see that my answers have much to do with materialism, just observing that perceived differences between decision making processes that evolve in beings in nature and designed/created in entities with silicon based calculating processors, are slight and continually reducing. If awareness can emerge from the former's, then there is little reason to disbelieve it will be an emergent quality of the latter too. Whether there is any spiritual aspect in either is a different subject.
Perhaps silicon beings take risks believing that their silicon god, in whose image they are made, is right behind them.

I don't subscribe to any religion, as far as I'm concerned they are all nonsense, but that is just my opinion. everyone is entitled to believe whatever they wish. It's their choice. Taking risks is all part of daily life. It's just the degree of risk that matters. I've taken many risks both in the army and as a civilian. Some more risky than others. It depends on the circumstances.
