It is the beginning of the end! The real end will come in around 2 billion years when the Sun starts to expand into a 'Red Giant' star and burns the Earth to a cinder. This has nothing to do with religion it is just what happens to all stars when they have used up all their supply of Hydrogen fuel.

Peter Pedant, over a very long period of time various people have predicted the end of the world - not least the Jehovah's Witnesses who have had umpteen attempts at it - but none have been right - so far.
