What Happened To R & S?

I discovered Answebank in 2006.
For the first few years, I posted regularly, had many arguments and discussions, and it was really busy all of the time.
I don't bother much these days as to be honest I got a bit fed up with the atheist anger and such. I can take that, but it it seemed so fruitless. Now I notice that the posts are few and far between, and the laughs I used to enjoy are missing.
Why is that?

I've been a Christian for nearly 30 years. //
Because as I understand it, Jesus teaches that his followers must preach the joys of the gospel and the afterlife - so if you are unwilling to do it in print in cyberspace, does that infer that you are similarly shy in your everyday life, and therefore not upholding the teachings of your faith?

If you really want your humour to be gratefully and graciously appreciated, some careful consideration should be given toward whom you're choosing to make the butt of your joke.
There is so much that religion needs to answer for, but for starters . . .
I make no apologies for my failure to find the humour in telling anyone, let alone impressionable little children, that reason is the devil's tool and the human mind his playground or that their rightful destiny for not believing as you do is an eternity in hell.

To answer your question, nothing has happened other than the weariness of constant insult. The people with some form of religious/spiritual outlook are quite varied in their beliefs, be they Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Taoists or whatever, I've never heard anyone of these different faiths be insulting to one another, or to atheists.
The atheist contingent have only one 'belief' which is the negative, "There ain't no God" and that's it really. Few of them have any understanding or interest in these religions or theology and it's history, (naomi perhaps does) so every topic descends into insults and bigotry.
The question shouldn't be "What happened", but more, what's the point?

Bathsheba - I am great. Health is not too good but hey, we all have our crosses eh? (No offence to the atheists there I hope).
Yes I remember Luna Tic and his band, the parties in the wine cellar, and what else? Wasn't there a craft shop? Pity there is no Sports bar where we could go for a private natter. That was real handy. Never mind. Maybe Mibs might get the band back together, like the Blues Brothers, and go touring. The Vatican Sports And Social Club would be a good venue, and see the Pope calling out the bingo numbers in the interval.
But ah! I'm getting ahead of myself.
Goodnight and God bless.

Khandro, //I've never heard anyone of these different faiths be insulting to one another, or to atheists.//
It's true that people of faith here tend to support one another (not a reflection on real life perhaps) but isn't true that atheists escape insult - several people, including you, have their moments.

// In my experience, no-one has ever been ridiculed for their beliefs, whatever colour they may be. //
I do not, and never have, ridicule goodlife, or anyone else for his or her beliefs.
What I do take strong issue with is his aversion to any sort of dialogue, and I have tried many times to engage him. He prints screeds of tracts from religious publications with no attempt to make them relevant in anyone's life on here - he appears to expect us to literally take it as read.
So no, I do not insult anyone's belief, but I will always attack the moral high-handedness, pitying head-shaking and hand-wringing, and general superior attitudes evidenced by a number of posters of faith on here.
That is not attacking their faith - it is attacking the pomposity they feel their faith allows them when talking to those who do not share their beliefs, and I make no apology for that.
