Because you'd not want to rush into that now would you !
A clear example of outmoded archaic thinking. We now know that carnivores can not live on a vegetarian diet, much as herbivores ingest a surprising amount of animal protein from the insects that live on the plants they chomp on.
The biblical Asaiah is just another fable that was invented to impress anyone who wanted to listen.

If the only alternative in Heaven are those ruddy awful Linda McCartney frozen meals, I am off to hell when I die.

It might be a bit hot down there but I wouldn't mind betting that the grub is better !
It's worse, you don't get to eat at all.
mikey, I am with you
Mrs O....I had a veggie staying with me a few years ago and I was thrown into a panic, regarding food for her, but even she wouldn't touch the McCartney meals ! I recall that she survived her weekend stay with lots of mashed potato, scrambled eggs and cheese.
I don't believe hell is all flames and pitchforks, I honestly believe that each person is given their own personal hell.
My personal hell would involve being locked in a room. The room would have flock wallpaper and patterned carpets that look like the effect you get when you rub your eyes too hard. Des O'Connor songs would play on a loop and there would be a bookshelf with only Mills & Boon books on it. Food & drink would consist of everything I hate and my mother in law would be sitting in a corner carping on at me for all eternity.
Is it too late for me to start being good?
We shall sip ambrosia and chew on manna for all eternity.
You been reading Sartre again, Mrs O?
Hell is other people.
Sandy...would that manna have any meat in it ? An eternity without sausages is going to seem like a very long time.

On a related subject, meatless sausages !

What the ruddy point ?
"L'enfer, c'est les autres"

( sorry for showing off ! )
Sandy, I had forgotten about that quote
Mrs O....its never too late !
mikey, Mr O is a vegetarian and for Christmas dinner he had a quorn turkey thingy. It tasted bloody disgusting!
While there are nut cutlets, lentil stews, and quorn, why would anyone consider butchering animals to provide food?
My son used to be a veggie. I remeber cooking him things that looked like the insole of a child's shoe. Hideous.
Your asian cuisine is limited. Dahl, rice, chapattis with dessert of halva, ludoo, peras, jellabi etc OR chinese fried rice & tropical fruits would be my heaven
