Mamya; That's all very well and laudable of the local Muslim community, but have you not noticed how they condemn the boy and his actions, but fail to condemn the agency (ISIS) which brought him to carry out this atrocity?

Heartening? Really? It would be rather more heartening if, rather than one small community offering a token gesture that they might or might not honour, Muslims world-wide protested in vast numbers as they did in response to the publication of cartoons of the prophet. I have to question what really activates the Muslim moral compass.

Reluctantly? Because the establishment of all countries always preamble their comments with the assertion that Islam is a peaceful religion.
The truth will painfully emerge on mainstream media and hopefully the closure of mosques and madrasahs.

Interesting that the link in the OP referred to the priest's being forced to kneel before his murder. Didn't Pope Francis CHOOSE to kneel and wash a refugee's feet?
