Theland, trust me, I searched for God in my youth. I read the bible from cover to cover, attended churches, prayed, everything. God didn't show up. Im 50 now and despite having the problems that beset humans Im happier and more content now that I was as a youngster. I actually like the Buddhist concept of acceptance of what is (not what we want). I accept that im going to suffer in life, I accept that im going to die, I accept that pain will come my way. Its all part of life. Acceptance is more reassuring than believing in a God that doesn't show himself.

For a loooooong looooong time ( decades) I tried to believe. I wanted to believe, because it seemed that all the people I wanted to share things with believed. However, my brain kept demanding evidence and reminding me of all the contradictions. Going to church didn’t help, praying didn’t help, reading stuff about religion didn’t help. In the end there were so many things against me in life that I decided the struggle with religion was the one I could most conveniently abandon, so I stopped struggling. The relief was wonderful ! It has lasted and deepened – I am just sorry I wasted so much time even giving the time of day to superstition, mythology and folk-tales.

I am looking forward to going to Hell were all the naughty girls are and debauchery is rampant. Were alcohol comes from the kitchen tap instead of water and everyone is merry, and all the gullible are send up to sit on a cloud for eternity.
