Compliments - Categories For Them?
9 Answers
There's been a bit of tension in our friendship group and we are soon to sit down and discuss to clear the air.
I think we have all been feeling a bit down.
I came up with an idea that I am convinced exists, but I can't find anywhere.
----------
Player 1 pulls a name from one hat/cup and that's the person they compliment.
Then they pull a genre from a second cup, and the compliment must follow that e.g looks, etc.
----------
I would love there to be a massive cup of genres so we can play for a while and help boost our mood and love for each other.
So come on AnswerBank, let's list as many categories for compliments as we can!
If anyone has a suggestion on improving this "game" further, I would love to hear that.
Also, if you think you might wanna play with your friends, I would love to hear that too!
#GirlPower #GirlsBuildGirlsUp (or boys!)
P.S. I'm trying to do a nice thing, albeit smooshy. Don't be mean!

I have done similar to this years ago as part of group work in a psychiatric hospital...If you are going to do it at all, am not sure that genre is appropriate as the person they are being asked to compliment may not be “strong” in the genre drawn. I’d also be REALLY careful around people commenting on other people’s looks.....in fact i’d be careful with this game full stop if there is tension in the group. When I did it as part of therapy, it was a trust exercise, much thought was put into the appropriateness of the exercise for the group of people and there were multiple staff in the group to model the way the the exercise should go. Clearing the air would probably be a good thing, but prepare for fireworks....I’d do an an ejoyable group activity rather than a game which has the potential to go badly wrong.....just my opinion.
