As Michel Houellebecq has said, No society can exist for long without religion, and the vacuum created by the burgeoning secularism in Europe promoted by the liberal left and atheism is quickly being filled by Islam. Even now, it may be too late to prevent this.

naomi; // what's your solution?//
There is no simple answer, as an individual, all one can do is open as much dialogue with as many people as possible and vote for parties which are addressing the issue.
The church is behaving abysmally, always trying to appease. I think if its founder were here today, he would have more robust attitude in the light of the fact that according to a report submitted to the US State Department, up until 2014 at least, 1,131 Christians - identified by name and place of death - have been murdered by radical Muslims calling themselves the Islamic state, and last night more than a thousand Muslims marched through the streets of London, blocking off Belgrave Square and demanding sharia law in the UK.

naomi; //Not sure what you think St Paul would have done.// You're quite right, of course, I shouldn't have used the word 'founder' when I was thinking of J.C. himself.

and listen to the reading of G.K.Chesterton's essay which I posted at 11:10 Mon. 12 Dec. ( I really wish you would :0) He talks about the plurality within Christianity - warriors and peacekeepers.
It's about his own journey from paganism to Christianity and he doesn't (as ever) proselytize.
I would welcome your thoughts.

Naomi - my response refers back to Khandro stating on another thread that everyone with the exception of your good self suffered from ADD - a comment removed for its offensiveness.
My response is not nasty, it is factual - that is what Khandro said, advising that you should read his link and advise the rest of us what it meant.
I for one will not be reading any observations you may choose to offer, but feel free to educate anyone else who is interested.
