I thought this was a joke article from one of those spoof news sites when I first saw it. There are lots of questions here but I'll go with 'Does anyone think he'll actually be charged with the offence?'
People are not stupid. No names, no pack drill as it's a short hop to the naughty step on AB. If you wish to put words into other people's mouths then the responsibility is yours.
jackdaw - //a-h, confusion comes easily to you. I'm sure most others will get my drift. //
I have re-read your post, and I understand now what you meant.
Confusion comes easily to me in the same that lousy sentence construction comes to you - but I won't be rude about your shortcomings, if you are not rude about mine.
Just popped back to this thread and after seeing a couple of pages of nonsense now wonder why I bothered. And there's me thinking we were talking about blasphemy and all that. Oh well ....
naomi; And there's me thinking we were talking about blasphemy and all that. Oh well .... //
Well we were, but then it was your friend mib., others and you, who started to tell us (for the millionth time and at every opportunity) of your disbelief in God which has nothing to do with the OP.
I agree with Fry's basic point here, which is (I think) that we can't possibly know whether a god exists or not. However, what we can know purely from observation of the facts is that IF he/she/it does exist, then he/she/or it is not a particularly good thing. It's at best inattentive, at worst malevolent.
It's a simple matter of logic. If people are offended by that it's their problem really. Don't shoot the messenger.
Of course that's the odd thing here isn't it - the person who walked into the Police station to report it claimed they weren't offended but doing their duty as regards the law.
