that when you have posted a Q, or read other Qs from members for advice or help, about shopping for appliances, home ideas, holidays, computer problems, bargains etc, that otherwise would have cost you, to find out the hard way?

Personally, I have saved £££ on having to call out a PC techie, as my knowledge of computers is terrible, and thanks to lots of people on here (you know who you are), they have answered my problems, with success.

One of my biggest irritations though, is when people asking for help, or advice, and its given, never come back to the Q, and say thanks.

I think my first Q on here was about my then upset washing machine, which thanks to the kind and useful answers save me getting 'a guy' out at a cost of £25 and gave me another few months use.

Agree about the lack of thanks at times.
I don't think I've saved any money but I've definitely learnt a lot through reading answers to questions I didn't even know I needed to ask.
It doesn't bother me in the least, truly, that people don't thank you for an answer, I don't answer any question expecting to to thanked otherwise I wouldn't come here. I liken it to doing a crossword or any other puzzle, I just do it for the fun of it.
I have learnt a lot discovered even more nice things to cook, make etc and had great advice.

Thanks are nice but not essential , we don't know what else is going on in the other person's life.
Hi, Trt......my first question helped no end with my car and saved me money....or at least saved the Honda chap a thick ear....

I've had lots of advice on crafts and DIY......which must have saved me money as well as time....

From Sqad......well the advice I had with my leg problem was brilliant.....and yes it probably saved me money.
I had started to see a consultant at about two or three hundred pounds a time and he was clueless......but more than that......Sqad's advice worked.......and I'd not have had that anywhere but AB..... :-)
