And those who pinned their hopes on Jesus don't seem to have noticed that He has done precisely nothing about anything.
Christianity is nothing more sophisticated than a Cargo Cult where the adherents remain convinced that the object of their fantasy will appear at any moment and solve all their problems.

Some have loved tried to live Christian lives; others did not. Some not professing any religion at all have, nonetheless, been honest and decent and have displayed some fine qualities.
All are imperfect and have, to a greater or lesser extent, exhibited bad qualities. In connection with the resurrection, the disturbing thought arises that there may be categories or different locations in which the dead are, such as purgatory, hellfire, limbo, nirvana, a world of shades or disembodied spirits, as taught by various religions of earth. If such were the case, our chances of seeing our loved ones on earth would be small. But these ideas are entirely unscriptural.
We can see what the Creator of all living souls purposes for the dead by considering what He has to say about it in the twentieth chapter of the Bible book of Revelation or Apocalypse.

The Bible refers to ancient places whose ruins may have been found but that does not constitute proof of the Bible. Most other works of fiction refer to real places too.
Finding the ruins of Jericho and noting its wall had collapsed does not prove that it fell because Joshua's army marched around the wall seven times blowing seven trumpets.
The levels of what the devoted require as proof is very low on anything that might support the Bible while vast archives of scientific observation and coherent theory are considered weak evidence against plethora of incongruities immediately obvious to any sensible person reading the Bible.
Crazy rituals, men living for a thousand years, healing the dead. We are supposed to accept that as fact. Seriously weird.

I think that this world is unfair. There is no justice and as Goodlife states, young people search in vain for employment. They go for higher education, universities and mount up colossal debts - what for? In many cases - nothing. I know of a couple who spent years at university but the only jobs they could get was in IT. What a waste of time and money.
Time was when going to university meant that one was intellectually gifted and worth considering offering a plum position. Nowadays it's reduced to a 'must have' status for all (mostly) and to get a decent job offer one must shine. The debts are unfortunate but an inevitable consequence of wanting to boast of vast numbers going to university. (Probably same reason colleges and polytechnics were renamed universities.) But the present system is weird. Go and just enjoy yourselves for a few years and you'll not have gained anything impressive enough to win a plum position; so won't get the large salary, which means you need to repay the "loan", and thus have the years off on the taxpayer. But achieve sufficient to prove you were university material and should have had a grant, and as a reward you have to repay the loan. Reward those who ought not have been there, hit those who will benefit the country by having gone. Brilliant.
That why religion and science are sometimes assumed to be mortal enemies. To some they appear locked in a struggle of such magnitude that it may seem that one will triumph only by the death of the other.
In one camp are some scientists, such as chemist Peter Atkins, who feel that reconciling religion and science is “impossible.” Atkins says that to believe “that God is an explanation (of anything, let alone everything) is intellectually contemptible.”
In another camp are religious people who blame science for the destruction of faith. Such individuals hold to the opinion that science as practiced today is a deception; its facts may be correct, but the misinterpretation of those facts undermines the beliefs of the faithful. For instance, biologist William Provine says that Darwinism means “no ultimate foundation for ethics; no ultimate meaning for life.”
However, some of the conflict has developed because of false or unprovable assertions originating from both sides. For centuries, religious leaders have taught mythical legends and erroneous dogmas that are at odds with modern scientific findings and not based on inspired Scripture. For example, the Roman Catholic Church condemned Galileo because he concluded, correctly, that the earth revolves around the sun. Galileo’s view in no way contradicted the Bible, but it was contrary to what the church taught at the time. On the other hand, scientists are at fault when they teach as fact the unprovable theory that life evolved from inanimate matter independent of God. They ridicule religious faith as unscientific.
It possible, then, to reconcile science and religion? Yes, it is. Actually, proven science and true religion complement rather than contradict each other.
