A bloody bad back for nailit.
Done a 5 hours stint at the foodbank distribution centre today. Spent most of it humping crates of beans around ready for delivery to the different outlets. Never seen so many tins of the stuff and they all had to be equally divided between dozens of different churches in the area.
Questioned why there were so many crates of beans and was told that for some reason people seem to donate more tins of beans than ANY other foodstuff.
WHY?
I know they are relatively cheap but so are packet soups and noodles. I don't mind humping packets of soup and noodles around.....

Everyone likes beans, I'm slightly stir crazy for a baked bean butty at the moment :)
Well done for helping out, Im guessing pasta, noodles, rice, soup and beans are the most donated.
Have you been given any manual handing training? You should have been, even if it's for a charity
Easy cook and quite nutritious.

Webbo, Seems that next to beans, tinned veg is the next most donated thing.
Don't you have a bad back anyway?

Ask for a transfer to a driving job!

I hate baked beans.
...anyway, at least it wasn't sardines today.

No 237. Its not difficult tho, just a bit wearing on the back after a few hours of constant lifting. Or maybe Im just beginning to feel my age...
By giving manual handing technique training, they are protecting their workers from injury and protecting themselves from litigation.

Tills, yes, I take Tramadol for back pain. Should be on the van next week....that's what I volunteered for but they've been really short staffed in the warehouse this week.

Yeah but if you had the correct techniques, you wouldn't have such a bad back :) Actually, you would be surprised what you can do to save your back. I was. Took a long time to change bad habits at work but apparently, training has saved a huge amount of injury sick time for employers
Think about the muscles you are building up...and the six pack...
Question Author
//and the six pack...//
Yes, a six pack. I could just drink one of those....
Wouldn't have a bad back then :-)
