What Has Faith Ever Given Us.

'Matereialistic' science has given us better health care...vaccines, eradication of certain diseases, anasthetics, anibiotics, pharmaceuticals, etc. Its given us instant communication with others via the internet, mobile phone, text, email and telecommunications and GPS systems. Its science that has enabled us to have food all year round and safe clean drinking water. Its science that allows us to predict the weather in advance and prepare for the worst of it. Its science that has utilised electricity so you can switch your light on and use your computer. Its science that has allowed us to board a jumbo jet and be on the other side of the globe in less than a day.

What has 'faith' in an unprovable deity ever given us?

Faith has given people an explanation of the futility of life. You are born , reproduce (some) and die. Our brains have developed so much we can't believe that that is that. We have to make up nice stories about heaven, beyond the veil, life after death, to give our lives some reason.

Thankfully my Pagan beliefs do not recognise Hell or the devil. When you die you return back to mother earth. Mostly as fertiliser.....

Rubbish. Empirical evidence is not faith.
If I switch on my light switch then I 'know' that my light is going to come on (barring a fault). That's not faith, that knowledge.

Theland does that mean I will go to heaven? Even if I don't believe? or will I be going to the basement? Hell & brimstone forever?. What God preaches unconditional love then basically says believe me and I will give you eternal life, don't believe me and you go to Hell.....that's not unconditional love!!!!!!!!!!!!!
