Recently read through another thread where it was said that homosexuality was a 'preference'.
Just when are religionist going to understand that someone's sexuality is NOT a preference, its who they are!
Both the Old Testament and the Koran proscribe death to homosexuals and in the New Testament St Paul says that homosexuals are worthy of death. If your own flesh and blood was a homosexual would you agree that they were worthy of death because some ancient literature says so?
And just WHY do hetero religious people seem to think that those with a different sexual orientation are any less than themselves
OK, Im going to have to blunt here (to the religionists reading this)
Why would a God...who can create an unimaginably large universe...be arrised with what/or where a man puts his penis? (lesbians, change it to suit)
JUST WHY???
God doesn't sweat the small stuff. These laws are man made. Probably came from a time when it was thought that such behaviour reduced the number of warriors in society
Nailit, I have five sons and a daughter. One of my sons, (30), has been in a long term homosexual monogamous relationship for a few years. They love each other, I love them both. My son has been a Christian by choice since age 13, and still is.
He struggles with his sexuality, and his faith, but is happy.
I do not have answers, only the offer of love which conquers all.
I cannot expand on this, I do not have answers.
Please be understanding.
Ah, found you, I was getting concerned that at almost 22:30 on a Monday night I hadn't come across the weekly version of this thread but I see all is well R & S afterall.
Sorry to be pedantic, nailit, but the Old Testament and the Koran don't proscribe death to homosexuals, they prescribe it! What they should be doing is proscribing this horrible, heinous 'punishment'.
I suspect that the people who use their religious beliefs to think less of anybody for anything would find another justification for it if all religion suddenly vanished from the world.
To the user that homosexuality was probably dissed by people because they believed it would reduce the number of warriors, you may be interested to know that Sparta warriors were all in homosexual relationships before they lay with women
// know that Spartans were all in homosexual relationships before they lay with women//
yeah lots of spartans around nowadays huh?
actually they really did sortta die out. There was major blood letting during the Peloponnesian War - and people noticed they were getting fewer
but the Spartans couldnt loosen their criteria for perfect babies....and so even tho numbers were shrinking they couldnt stop exposing the kids
