On a lighter note, I was just about to call my hairdresser to cancel my next appointment when she phoned me to say she’d decided not to work until this is all over. Very wise in my opinion. It occurred to me though that many of us will be left to our own devices with colours and cuts and all the rest of the paraphernalia that usually belongs in a hair salon - the effects of which remain to be seen. I guess for me it will be home colouring and longer hair. What will you do?

I think this will be more of a problem for the ladies.

Shaver straight over the lot no.2
Does it matter if you're not going anywhere special, Naomi? By the time this is all over, we'll all have hair down to our waists and more hairstyles will be open to us as a result. Before I joined the army - a million years ago - my hair was as long as any decent rocker's. Now when it grows a tad long, it starts to curl up at the back. So I have to keep it at a 'respectable' length:-(
I will probably do the same as you Naomi.

Do you only bother to take care of your appearance if you're going somewhere special, Ken?
I think I'll just stick with my 'dragged backwards through the hedge' look.
Hair colour eventually, (I have one box and don’t know when I can get another) as I am not going out apart from a walk round the block! Style will grow out, so firstly untidy covered with scarves, then a pony tail, haven’t had one since the late 50’s!
My wife is very handy with the secateurs.
I’ve gone to what nature ( and age) intended for me to have , silver grey and I love it, no more roots to have done but my problem is I have very thick hair and wavy too, I love getting it ‘thinned’ down, I’m gunna be like an Afghan hound me thinks :0(
/// By the time this is all over, we'll all have hair down to our waists ///

I should be so lucky ;-)
Ok feathers then
I have just enrolled in the "Mr Teasy Weasy - Hairdresser in a Week" online course.

I can already make tea and sweep floors, so that's module 1 done, now I just need to persuade a friend to let me do the "wash hair in a chronically uncomfortable position" practical for module 2.

I expect to be fully qualified by Friday ... to be giving gness a full wash/cut/colour/dry on Saturday ... and if lucky to be walking without pain by the end of next week.
Touch my hair, Sunshine and you'll never walk again!
Might get creative with the poster paint.

I haven't been to the hairdressers since last November, so it makes no difference to me. I am growing my hair and I think my highlights are still ok.

Me too, mamyalynne. I like it!
Not a problem for me as I detest going to the hairdressers, I'd rather go to the dentist and have all my teeth pulled out! I stopped colouring my hair over 20years ago and now it is 50 shades of grey! I also taught myself to cut my own hair and although I usually tend to cut it a bit too short, it does eventually grow and fortunately it doesn't look like the picture jackthehat has put on. My problem at the moment is I'm overdue for an eye test but there's no way I want anyone that close to me.
I went to the hairdresser for a blow dry last week. They are not thinking of shutting unless forced too.
If I can’t go when I need my roots doing I’ll use the bottle I’ve already got.
Thanks for the reminder. Need to get touch up for grey bits around ears!
Ooh yes eye test. At the best of times I can’t bear the optician looking right into my eyes and breathing all over my face.
