Ive had it said time and again, ''you dont want to believe because you want to sin'' by evangelicals.
What utter nonsense!
And its implied by the religious on here (not all..)
Informed non-believers are atheists for a reason! We've looked into your claims and found them wanting!
fiveleaves; No-one has compelled me to be an atheist. It just seems to me from my years of experience and thought that I don't see any compelling argument that there is a god. Even if there is a First Cause, I see no reason to believe that the FC is a Male, Beneficent, Caring entity. Why not try for a moment to imagine a FC that is none of those things? It might be scary, but ..... (sorry, but I just had to run outside and clap!) maybe that's the way it is. Best wishes.
lot's of different gods, what flavour...the mighty god of abraham fire and brimstone, gods of the vikings..lot's about you know
they all like to be worshipped! odd that.. narcissism.
You'll reach a point in your life when it really won't matter whether anyone approves of the way you think and whether you do or don't believe in anything.
It's a very liberating place to be, comfortable with yourself.
